When those post-workout endorphins hit 🤩🙌 I wanna chat about a topic real quick... PRE-WORKOUT! As in pre-workout energy supplements. 😬 Those of you girls that have been following me for a while know I’m usually a fan of pre-workout. It just pretty much GUARANTEES a killer workout 😭🔥🙌 and on those days you’re struggling to get to the gym, down that pre-workout and you now have no choice but to go 😅🤷‍♀️ . But... as much as I’ve always enjoyed the benefits of pre-workout, lately I’ve been taking a good look at what I put in my body, from my macros down to the (very few) supplements I take. . I’ve alternated pre-workout and espresso for some time now, as I feel espresso is a healthier/more natural alternative to most pre-workout blends, but I’ve never been able to completely transition to espresso... until now. . Typing this out almost made me feel like I was talking about a drug of some sort 😭 because it really has been tough for me to not rely on pre-workout. It’s been a mental battle to recognize that *I* determine whether I get in a killer workout or not... not the pre-workout. . So do I recommend pre-workout? I think in moderation, it’s not the worst thing in the world and it really can be a game changer for your workouts. But I don’t recommend relying on it for every. single. workout. If you DO need a boost, a more natural option like an espresso or even maca root which has shown to increase energy and stamina, are better, more natural alternatives. . I used to take pre gym and it was basically like doing cocaine before a workout. I might use it again here and there but I’ve been going pretty natural myself using espresso or a thermo booster.

Puppy kisses make EVERYTHING better amiright?! 😍 P.S. Am I going to see any of you girls the the @puppiesnplanksfestthis Saturday?? . If you’re in SoCal, I hope you’re coming!! Even if you don’t have anyone you know that is going, you’ll know ME!! 💕 And I’ll be hanging out all day!! We’ll have a booth and treats (for both you and your pup 😆) and if you don’t have a pup, Rigatoni can be your honorary pup for the day 😄🐶 . I’m leading a 3K walk and warmup at 8am and then I’ll be at my booth from 9-10:30am. There are tons of awesome workout classes being held throughout the day too. . The best part of it all (aside from getting to work out and hang out with puppies all day!) is 100% of ticket proceeds will go to charities benefiting LA Animal Services and other local rescue organizations ❤️ . It’s ok to have a little pity party for yourself here and there. But don’t stay there. Don’t allow feeling sorry for yourself to become a habit. Life isn’t just happening to you, we ALL get derailed, we all have moments of getting back on track just to get sick, or just in time for vacation, or just in time for *insert the reason why you still aren’t taking care of your body the way it deserves*. . The people that see the most progress aren’t the most motivated, they aren’t “lucky”, they aren’t extraordinarily gifted, they’re dedicated. THEY DONT GIVE UP. . Dedication means sticking to what you said you would long after the moment you said it in has left you. They don’t let excuses get the best of them and they have enough self-awareness to call themselves out on their own BS. After that time you got sick, did you continue letting that be your excuse?.... What about that vacation? Or that new job? Or that new move? . I want you to start calling yourself out. Recognize when you can do better, and then do better. I recently discovered I have labral tears in both hip flexors 😢 larger in my right than left. @annavictoria help!! any suggestions on other exercises that avoid squishing hip flexors?!?!(such as squats, which I’ve been instructed not to do by my PT...)
