Came up with this overhead revolving stick thing in squat base. Any good ideas for what to name it?? Hits your whole spine and back, especially the lumbo-thoracic and scapulae. Great exercise for posterior chain and postural strength. #bodyweightgurus @bodyweightgurus

#pancakestretch Progress... 🥞 This particular stretch has been the bane of flexibility for me. When I first started mobility training 2 years ago I had really tight hamstrings and a poor foward fold. Even once I had improved my forward fold, the complexity of this position eluded me for so long, I could barely sit with my legs open in a wide straddle without my hands behind me. Now I can almost taste that floor... 🤤 “When things don’t happen right away, just remember it takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 hours to build a Toyota.” I mean drive what the heck you want, sure. But if you’re after a superior build, it takes time. I didn’t have most of the flexibility you see when I was young, I learnt and earnt it all as an adult after developing tension and tightness from a lifetime of movement and martial arts training. Now I’m still going strong, thanks to a balanced training approach. Give thanks to the universe daily for endowing me with the capacity to even approach these levels. If you want something, go get it. Get up now, do the work. It’s time. #bodyweightgurus @bodyweightgurus

OPEN FOR REGISTRATION: 11-12 May (12 /15 spaces left) Mobility training is a specific and concentrated effort to enhance the performance of a single joint at a time through cellular level tissue manipulation. It isn’t something you need to already be at a high level in to train - in fact, on the contrary it has the most benefit to those most in need of it. That’s the beauty of it - it can help all individuals to reclaim lost ranges of motion, relieve pain and perform better. And the starting point is literally wherever you are now. This is achieved through a mixture of our own and other cross-discipline techniques, all based in sport science and logic. On the course we frequently reference journals and relevant articles to back up why and how we do things the way we do. Flexibility alone is passive range and results in long tissue with little neuromuscular control or engagement – this is dangerous as it causes the joints to become at risk of injury. We need to be able to activate, use and protect them in those end ranges. Flexibility creates the workspace that we work Mobility into. We are teaching a complete system here from the diagnosis of tissue dysfunction to the prescription of the resolution - we will show you how to assess and find out what is causing biomechanical weakness or pain, followed by the step by step system we use to programme training or rehab for that. We are bringing a CLEAR, UNDERSTANDABLE and APPLICABLE APPROACH to mobility coaching, accessible to all who want to learn, not just anatomy experts! You will gain an accredited certification to teach approved by PD: Approval and REPs, along with 7 CPD points and access to our trainer network. Come and learn how to coach REHAB, MOBILISATION, END-RANGE CONDITIONING and OPTIMISE PERFORMANCE of your clients and athletes in ANY SPORT. Wow! That’s core strength!

Yesterday, before I jumped back on the bar for the first time in about 6 months, I thought to myself “Can I still do it?”... That hard metal bar is 8 foot high. And that thought, if allowed to expand will turn into fear. It will turn into self doubt. It will turn you against yourself, and make you shy away from trying. If you lose that first battle in the mind, it’s all over. But luckily for me I still remember. I remember 8 years ago, when I first started training calisthenics with friends. Self-taught all the way, we grinded in the parks in all types of weather including rain, freezing cold and snow with no-one to advise us if we were going about it right or wrong. We just practised until we could do it. Hard graft. Our love for our sport and training was stronger and it brought us our successes. It surprised me that I can leave a thing alone for half a year and come back to it, having not lost much else but endurance and some strength. When we say “my body remembers”... it means it remembers the pain, the countless hours and days, the grind, the passion, and the joy of achieving. It will not fail me if I put my trust in it, since we worked on these things till our callouses ripped off and our bodies were sore. Sometimes I see people training and I think - you need more fire. You don’t want it enough, your face isn’t even showing the signs of stress needed to progress. I see more strength in the person who can’t do one pull up but tries every day, than in the casual trick seekers. It takes determination. And I mean it. To be able to take pain, to be able to squeeze and hold for those extra milliseconds. It develops character. Doing this stuff with a calm expression and smooth flow doesn’t come easy. It’s the result of years and years of dedication. I don’t say this to put anyone off, but to give a reality check. These are not Instagram snapshots. These are not party tricks. They are some of the hardest goals that you can set for yourself, in terms of difficulty, self belief and discipline. And if you achieve them you will have the mindset of a winner in all the things you do. Here’s to all the winners out there who just keep on going... 🙌🏽👊🏽🏆
