I slept!! .... I actually slept! And I can drink my tea with the sun rising on my face. The sun! It’s the last one and the best morning. The water of the lake is steaming, the rocks around are so quiet, waiting for the sun as well, maybe. We are all orange, cold and pinky. This silence. I take it all in and consider for a minute, just doing it again, up to cradle mountain. You know, just to walk some more. If I shave my head and beg for porridge pretending to be a Buddhist monk... could it work? 🤔
Ok. Pull out the violins. The end is coming. Rolling that mat, again, squeezing the sleeping bag in that stuff in which it never fits, water in the kamel bag, the rest of food in the dry bag, the stove in another one, the few clothes in the last one, all these bags in the big one, the walking sticks on the side, and everything on my back. That was my challenge. To carry everything I need with me. To have that strength and freedom. Mentally, emotionally, physically, to carry what I need. Only.
I can’t help it but to feel the sadness of leaving that place, to go away from these trees, bush and big forest. I suddenly feel lonely. And deeply disappointed for giving up on my camping outfit that might not be fashionable in the big city.
Breath in. The coming emptiness. Breath out.
Here comes the ferry.
We all look around in silence, but I guess deeply happy. Soon there will be the pride of having done it, the happiness of a hot shower, the greatness of a real mattress, but for now, with a smirk on our face, it’s just quiet. .
